Lectures at Griffith University for U3A clubs on the Gold Coast
The guest lecturer for Friday, 13 May 2016 will be
Ms Shelley Roberts,
Centre for Health Practice Innovation, Menzies Health Institute Queensland.
Ms Roberts' topic will revolve around: "Malnutrition".
'Malnutrition is common among hospitalised patients due to acute illness and/or chronic disease. Many patients find it difficult to eat enough to meet their nutrition needs in hospital. However, intakes may be improved by allowing patients to actively participate in their nutrition care. My research has focused on developing a patient-centred intervention, involving new technology at Gold Coast University Hospital, to engage patients in their nutrition care and improve their nutritional intakes during hospitalisation.'
2:00pm tea, coffee, biscuits & mini muffins
3:00pm question time
3:15pm end of session
These lectures are always very interesting and the Gold Coast light rail terminus is a very short distance from The Chancellery building where they are held.
