Bodyworks
Bodyworks is a lecture series over four terms given by a retired science teacher. There is one lecture each week which lastsfor 1 1⁄2 hours. (Don’t worry, we have a stand- up break in the middle to let the blood flow in our legs – we don’t want anyone toget blood clots!).
The course is designed to help everyone understand how the different systems of the body work and how they can go wrong (especially as we age).
This is a science course but you will not have to have any scientific background to participate fully. You simply need an interest in learning new things. Sometimes the topic will become quite involved and your brain may hurt, but this is a wonderful exercise for staving off dementia.

When you enrol, the tutor will email you the course notes for the term. You can print these off or download them to a laptop/ipad or do nothing. The lecture is built around power point presentations which include lots and lots of diagrams. Also the tutor often picks up a marker and moves onto the whiteboard to explain different concepts.
