CODE OF CONDUCT
U3A Broadbeach is dedicated to providing a safe, happy and satisfying learning environment for its members. We undertake to provide our members with a trustworthy and welcoming environment based on equal opportunity to participate in our U3A programs and activities.
Every member of U3A Broadbeach has the right to:
- feel safe and respected
- a supportive and positive learning environment
- participate in learning, social and recreational opportunities
- receive services fully compliant with U3A Australia Code of Conduct
- make a complaint to the committee and receive prompt and fair resolution
- have access to all information by way of the regularly updated U3A Broadbeach website.
Every member of U3A Broadbeach has the responsibility to:
- act and speak respectfully
- understand and follow the organisation’s guidelines, policies and procedures
- appreciate the voluntary commitment of tutors and office bearers and comply with all their reasonable requests
- work cooperatively, honestly and with integrity for the benefit of all members
- maintain positive relationships
- care for the property and possessions of all venues used, U3A Broadbeach and the members
- help create an inclusive environment, avoiding discriminatory behaviour with respect to ethnicity, culture, gender, sexuality, religion, age and disability
- be mindful of safety by following all safety directions and reporting actual or potentially unsafe situations or conduct
- follow all rules as required by venues used and follow any emergency drill instructions
- refer all relevant communication with venues through the U3A Broadbeach committee
- take personal responsibility for transport to and from venues used; be mindful that transporting another member involves the driver’s insurance cover.
