A warm invitation is extended to all members and their guests to join in
on our next Coach Excursion to be on THURSDAY 18th November 2021.
We will be meeting from 9am at Merrimac State High School
(near the bus turn around) ready for our departure at 9.15am.
Then, we will begin our journey
(with a morning tea stop along the way) towards
THE IPSWICH WORKSHOPS RAIL MUSEUM
which is part of the Queensland Museum Network and is winner of the
Australian and QueenslandTourism Awards
for Heritage & Cultural Tourism.
There we can see History come alive with hands-on exhibits, multimedia encounters and colourful stories, coupled with huge steam locomotives and massive industrial machinery.
We can also meet some true Aussie characters as we step into a real heritage railway workshop and see it in operation, just as it has been for 150 years.
We can explore over 15 larger than life exhibits to discover the enormous impact that rail has had on our lives and we can view the largest model railway of beautiful Queensland and we can enjoy so much more as we tour around the Museum.
There are different lunch options available at the Museum and once personal bookings are secured, those options will be made available to make your choices from and will then be ordered for you.
We will be at the Museum from approx 11.30am until approx 2.30pm,
then as we journey back to Merrimac High School we will be stopping
at THE CHRISTMAS SHACK 🎄🎅🎄 for a look at their festive offerings
expecting to be arriving back to Merrimac by approx 5pm.
It is estimated that this Excursion will cost approx $45.00 per person, all inclusive( i.e. coach, museum entry & lunch) but as always, costs are determined by the number of travellers, so the more the merrier and
the more cost effective also.
Please reply to this email by FRIDAY 5th November if you would like to secure a seat or seats, for this day trip and very soon after that date,
the final details including lunch options, payment options
and the final cost will be emailed to all travellers.
Looking forward to your replies
