U3A Excursion to Mt Warning
All members and their guests are happily invited to join in on our next
Coach Excursion on THURSDAY 27th October 2022.
We will be meeting at Merrimac State High School from 9am for our Coach
to depart at 9.15am, to head south, with a morning tea stop along the way,
as we journey through the picturesque countryside towards Mt Warning.
Mt Warning is very near the border of Queensland and the North Coast of NSW.
and is a stunning part of the Mt Warning National Park
It is also known as Wollumbin - meaning 'cloud catcher' and it is the first place on
Australia's mainland to receive the sun's rays each day.
We will be having a delicious lunch at the Mt Warning Hotel
which is situated in the beautiful foothills of Mt Warning
and it's only a short stroll to walk along to see the little town of Uki.
Then, after our lunch stop we will be travelling on to
The Tweed Valley Farmhouse Cheeses in Burringbar for a
🧀 'Cheese Tasting Adventure' 🧀
These farmhouse cheeses are made by hand on the family run farm,
reflecting the individual character of only one farm and one herd.
Wine can be purchased individually to have with the cheese tasting - if desired !!
Then we will be homeward bound along the beautiful South East Coast to
🏄 be back to Merrimac High School by approx 4.30pm.
It is expected that this Excursion will cost $45-$50 (all inclusive - except the wine!)
but, as with all Excursions - costs are determined by the number of travellers so the
more the merrier and the more cost effective.
