Everyone is invited to bring their own picnic type lunch for this Excursion, including your favourite tipple perhaps. We will however be stopping in the High Street in Templin Village where there is a very highly recommended bakery, if anyone might be wanting to purchase a little something tempting from there. 🌯🍕🌮
Templin has over the years produced dairy, grain, meat and vegetables and the Templin Historical Village invites their guests to go back in time and see what life was like for the early settlers in the area. Spanning 10 acres the Museum showcases the areas varied history epitomising this quintessential country town.16 buildings have been saved and they house thousands of stories, images and collections. Items in the museums extensive collection include household goods, sporting memorabilia, military items, farming implements and indigenous artefacts.Ladies will love the House of fashion that showcases items through the generations dating from the 1900's and the Men will love the shed of machinery, most of which is still in working order. There is even a working wind turbine from 1923 and operational blacksmithing equipment.
After our visit to the Museum and @ approx 1pm, we will journey on to Mt French National Park to enjoy this beautiful area with its stunning views and this is where we will be able to enjoy our BYO picnic type lunch 🌯🍕 where there are tables, toilets etc.
Then we will travel on back to the Gold Coast, through the wonderful scenic countryside from approx 2pm to arrive back to Merrimac State High by approx 3.30pm.
As with all excursions the cost is determined by the number of travellers, so the more the merrier and the most cost effective.
